Iowa City No Shame Best Of Nominations

Right now it looks like our next show on Dec. 5 will be our Dead Week show - probably, we are still working things out. Dead Week is the show before the Best Of show, where pieces will not be eligible for Best Of because the Best Of order will have been decided and then will be announced at the end of the Dead Week show. But we have realized we are nearing the end of this season and we haven't yet announced Best Of nominations. So look through the archives for this season at noshame.org and tell us which pieces were your favorites!

"Eric and Luke do an Improv Game Where You Pull Random Lines out of your Pocket and Say Them" by Eric and Luke

"The Passing of Pickles the Clown" by Mirri

"Museum Tour Audiotape" or "NYT Obituary Errata and Corrections" by Evan Schenck

"You Only Wish This Wasn't A True Story" by Leigh

"Why Was Six Afraid of Seven? Because Seven Eight Nine!" by Katy Baggs

"One Man Jeopardy" by John Bates.

I'd nominate more, but that seems to be what a full order consists of these days.

You know what would be great? If we could have just one more Greg Machlin piece. And if NoShame could fly Greg Machlin back to Iowa. That would be *awesome.*

Signed, someone who is of course not Greg Machlin.

I just realized I didn't nominate any John Bates piece for Best Of (shame on me!). I liked the improvised "Jeopardy" piece best out of the ones I saw, but I'd be glad to see one from another week (it'll be new to me).

The Most Reasonable Explanation- Katy Baggs
--I saw a commercial for that show the other day. The 18th kid has been born, and the mom is now pregnant with twins. It is madness.

Any song by Leigh.
--I think she should pick whichever one she is feeling most at the time. Cause when she is really truly into a song, her performance is fantastic.

Water you have betrayed me- Eric

The Passing of Pickles the Clown- Mirri

There is more I liked, but my mind is drawing a blank at the moment. So... yeah.

OH, DUDE! Totally forgot about dead week from last semester! That was an awesome show, and there are many that I can't nominate because the writers/performers have moved on (your prom is so small, for example), but I really enjoyed all of these...

Seduction Through Distraction
by Andrew J. Daniels

Therapy Session #147
by John Bates

Dave Matthews
by the Bougm Fellows

Hey, I had an idea for Best Of this semester! Since, it has kind of been a whole different show this time around with a new space and almost none of the "regulars" from previously maybe we could try switching it up a little?

I know traditionally we pick the best pieces from the season or whatever which is cool, but since it seems like there really haven't been very many pieces this semester, and I know there were some pieces, but even still they just weren't all that good so what if we had a Best of NS of ALL NEW material? I think that would be really exciting!

We could bill it as pieces written SPECIFICALLY for this special show, and maybe we could even try to get some former No Shame members to contribute something to it! It's just an idea, but I think the audience might be a lot more excited to go if they knew there was going to be something really cool and special for that night! Does anybody want to try and get this orginized? Do we have a contact sheet for people at all?

Peace
Matt

A best of that's all new material?

What's the difference between that and a normal show?
