New Uniboard?

I've set up this blog as an alternative to the messageboards in the wake of losing the uniboard. This isn't ideal, but the idea is to still have a forum where people can post responses to topics. Only moderators (one from each participating No Shame) will be able to post a topic, but anyone can post a comment to the thread. I'm anticipating that the thread topics would be the orders from each No Shame. If people wanted to make a new topic, they could send that topic to the moderator for their No Shame and it could be posted for them.

It isn't perfect, but at least it is free.

Let me know if you are interested by posting a comment to this post.

Ways this sucks less than the MSN board:
-If you're reading this, that means it is possible to post comments without creating an account, even anonymously, even under someone else's name.
-It isn't owned by big, evil, bandwidth-sucking Microsoft.

Ways this sucks more:
-If you're reading this, that means it is possible to post comments without creating an account, even anonymously, even under someone else's name.
-Moderator approval for new topics might keep urgent "Come to our non-No Shame show TONIGHT" messages from ever being posted, or else bury them in unrelated threads.
-The front page most prominently displays whole posts instead of subject lines. (As I'm writing this, a casual visitor from Roanoke might skim through the IC and LA orders then move on disappointed.) A possible solution would be for moderators to keep their primary messages very short, along the lines of, "Much better show this week, though still desperately lacking an audience. Click 'comments' to read the order and review the show."

Hopefully everyone will be willing to give this blog a try (unlike the MSN board, where I have recently become responsible for 50% of the posts).

I agree that this is still sucky, though less sucky than the MSN boards. I personally feel the Yahoo groups are better than the MSN boards, but either way, it is still nice to have something that the general public can look at to see what the community is like and to have a way for all the No Shame chapters to have a place where they intersect, even if only in cyberspace.

I agree with you that it might be better for the mod started threads to be very very short. You can check out the previous post menu in the sidebar for easier selection of relevant themes, though. No need to scrol through all the posts to find what you want.

On the upside, no spam, easier to get rid of really objectionable posts, and it is totally free.

How does one become their particular city's moderator so that their city may have their order posted? Please to let me know via electronic mail:

Roanoke NSer Simon @kins chimes in:

I like blogs, but I don't
like the structure of
*this* blog. Aren't there
any NSers out there who
have a server that they
could install Slash or
Postnuke or Zope on? I
think the ultimate aim
for the national No Shame
community should be to really
have a national No Shame
community. The No Shame
site should be robust and
featureful enough so that
instead of a buncha yahoogroup
fiefdoms, we can all be
good citizens of NS Nation

Dear comrads!

Is it a problem to convert iTunes to mp3? I say NO :) Its really puzzling not being able to play iTunes tracks with my $300 iriver!
Digging for a solution brings certain results. To convert iTunes to MP3 I used this tool drm removal ( or something like this, please ask me - will find that web again). I don't care what is drm - what I read, its something dealing with protection and nothing about iTunes.
But this tool really works for me and it converted quickly my iTuines entire library, including video files!.

How do you convert it? Why iTunes brings this shit? I didn't like ipods at all! They simple stuck and suck!
What is that drm that I loose converting my itunes to mp3?

thanks in advance!

Just to share an expirience:
I found a solution to grab YouTube videos. Some of are sites where you put the link from YouTube and it gives you file with strange extension and small size. Some are really complicated.
My way was to use moviesherlock ( or sm like this - please ask me - will rememeber). Really simple utility, that just works, and only 1 button in software.
I downloaded it from here:.
I downloaded even HD movies!

But it looks too simple, has no player, but just works. It downloaded ~12 concurrent movies for me and actually slows down my system. Its possible to do search in moviesherlock and search results differs from what you see in YouTube. Thats strange.
Who knows - Tube search are same for same keyword? I loves cat (Simons cat / dog).
Why doesn't youtube allows to download its movies without external tools?!! It actually sucks!

Thanks in advance!
