WE ARE BACK for the fall season starting this Friday, January 28! Same time, same place, same price as usual: 11 pm, Theatre B in the Theatre Building, $1. Tell your friends, tell your friends to tell their friends, and come to the show!

Even better, write a piece and perform it! We always want new writers/performers, and if you're new, you automatically get in the order. Come to the Theatre Building lounge Friday night with enough copies for anyone who's in your piece plus one more for whoever's doing lights. Include your name, your piece's title, and light directions (usu. just "lights up" at the beginning and "lights down" at the end) and give us your piece at 10:30 so we have enough time to put the order together. There's a new season of No Shame Theatre starting up THIS FRIDAY SEPT. 3 at the Theatre Building's Theatre B at 11 pm. Bring a dollar for admission and bring your friends who are each bringing their own one dollars to give to us.

OOH, ALSO: If you want, bring a piece to perform! Show up at the theater lounge AND/OR lobby (and then come into the lounge) where we will be taking pieces at 10:30. Provided your piece follows the Three Rules of No Shame (1. it's original, as in you wrote it or a friend of yours wrote it for you to perform, 2. it is 5 minutes or less, and 3. it does not damage theatre space or its occupants), we will take it if there is room. First come, first serve, unless you're new, in which case you are guaranteed a spot in the order!

Hey folks! It is that time again! Time to nominate your favorite pieces of the last semester for our BEST OF NO SHAME show on December 11th. Here is how it works. 1) You nominate the pieces you want to see. 2) The NS Board meets and uses those nominations to pick the best show possible. 3) We announce the Best Of order at our Dead Week show on December 4th. 4) The show goes up on the 11th and we all have a rockin time. I posting today to tell you the good news that the No Shame Board has come to a basic agreement with the U of I Theatre Department and we are glad to announce that No Shame will be back in it's regular home this semester. Our first show is scheduled to be January 30th in Theatre B!

Those wishing to perform: Just bring a copy of your script to the Theatre Lounge or Lobby (depending on where the board members are) at 10:30 that night and you're in. First timers get in automatically.

Iowa City No Shame Best Of Nominations

Right now it looks like our next show on Dec. 5 will be our Dead Week show - probably, we are still working things out. Dead Week is the show before the Best Of show, where pieces will not be eligible for Best Of because the Best Of order will have been decided and then will be announced at the end of the Dead Week show. But we have realized we are nearing the end of this season and we haven't yet announced Best Of nominations. So look through the archives for this season at noshame.org and tell us which pieces were your favorites!

WTF. Where has this show been all season!? It rocked the house down! The order is in the replies section.

ALSO there is no show this upcoming Friday. The weekend before thanksgiving. We will return on December 5th. A post for Best Of nominations will be posted in the upcoming days/week.

Another point of interest is the Alley Cabaret show going on at the Englert this weekend. I believe their show goes up Thursday and Friday. Doors open at 11:30 in the back alley behind the Englert. Tickets are $5 at the door. They will be plugging our last two shows.

No Shame Iowa City Fall

Hey everybody,

Just so you know, we have no intention of shutting down No Shame in the fall because of damage to the University's Theatre Building. As some of you know, June's flood seriously left the Arts campus crippled and unsuitable for students and performers/artists. Sadly, we are unable at this time to provide information about a replacement location but assure you we are searching vigorously for other spaces or options. We hope to have (preferably positive) information to you before the week of our first show on September 3rd. Thanks for your time and hope to see you all soon.
